Today, 15.05.2022, the kids of SCC “Shumen” played the third of the series of internal club tournaments in rapid, which are now officially called “Club League”.
Competitors again played in two tournaments – Tournament A (Advanced) and Tournament B (Beginner) with some of the competitors who had previously played in Tournament B taking part in the stronger Tournament A; the best performer among them is Daniel Dobrev (8th out of 14) – perseverance in preparation pays off!
In addition to subject prizes and participation certificates for all competitors, the first three of the two tournaments received medals.
In Tournament A, the first three places were taken by Zhivko Kaloyanov, Nikolay Valchanov (again, bad luck for Nikolay!) and Pavel Petkov – with a strong start, a victory against the champion and a prestigious draw against Magdalena Stoyanova, who took 4th place. They are followed by three with 3 out of 5 each – Ege, Norair and Georgi, each of whom can perform better.
In Tournament B – the first three places were taken (not surprisingly) by Kristiyan Valchev (with 5 out of 5!), Velin Simeonov and Kubrat Lazarov, followed by two with 3.5 points each – Yuri Ivanov and Tonislav Tonchev – well done to both of them!
Once again, new chess players made their first moves in the Club League – Silvia, Selin, Victoria, David, Hakan, Ana, Marina, Dobriana, and Vlad from Ukraine, who recently started his training in our club.
We wish them perseverance in mastering the basics, as well as the intricacies of the game and chess etiquette!
