On 30.11.2025, we also held “Chess Winter”, the last, fourth tournament of the year in the “Chess Seasons” series. For the first time, the tournament featured visiting groups of young chess players from Ukraine and Romania; for some of them it was their first tournament, and some of the more experienced ones performed excellently – it is worth noting the mature play and first place among the 10-year-old chess players of Sorin-Andrei OPREA (ROU), followed by Dobromir Totev (SCC “Shumen”, Shumen) and Tsvetan Danev (CC “Dunav 1931”, Ruse).






The winner of Tournament A and among the 8-year-olds was Pavel Lozanov (CC “Pristis”, Ruse); he won second place for 2025, surpassed only by Yavor Velkov (CC “Caissa”, Varna) and followed by Alexey Grozev (SCC “Shumen”, Shumen).











After the seven rounds in both tournaments, the 3 invited competitors in the ages under 8, 10, 13 and 16 for all 4 stages of the tournament in 2025 are:
under 8: 1. Yavor VELKOV (CC “Caissa”) / 2. Pavel LOZANOV (CC “Pristis”) / 3. Alexey GROZEV (SCC “Shumen”);
under 10: 1. Daniel TOKMACHOV (USA) / 2. Dobromir TOTEV (SCC “Shumen”) / 3. Tsvetan DANEV (CC “Dunav 1931”);
up to 13 years: 1. Velin SIMEONOV (SCC “Shumen”) / 2. Nikolay T. TODOROV (CC “Caissa”) / 3. Nikolay NEYCHEV (CC “Asenevtsi”);
up to 16 years: 1. Eren BEYNABIEV (SCC “Shumen”) / 2. Alexander PETKOV (CC “Shumen”) / 3. Zhivko KALOYANOV (SCC “Shumen”).
According to the regulations, the first five in each age group received non-monetary prizes.







The tournaments had participants from Varna, Ruse, Pleven, Krepcha, Razgrad, Shumen, Romania and Ukraine.
We thank them for honoring us with their presence and play and invite them next year for the start of “Chess Seasons” – 2026.
